The main challenge was to design a digital experience that reflected the timeless elegance of wristwatches while keeping exploration simple and intuitive. The interface needed to balance visual sophistication with clear organization and smooth interactions, allowing users to seamlessly navigate the archive without feeling overwhelmed by data or visuals.

To understand user expectations, I explored existing archives and e-commerce watch platforms, identifying the need for a clearer filtering and categorization system. I defined four main categories. Type, Era, Style, and Brand, each with detailed subcategories, enabling users to easily locate specific watches or discover new ones through intuitive filtering.

After establishing the classification system, I created a structured information architecture that organized content hierarchically and supported quick access to watch details. This structure ensured that navigation between categories remained fluid and predictable.

The core idea was to evoke the sensation of a watch dial through smooth motion and transitions. Interactive elements respond to user actions like clicking or hovering, imitating the subtle rotation of a watch’s components. Page transitions were designed as interconnected movements, creating a cohesive and immersive flow throughout the archive.

The visual identity reflects both modern precision and timeless craftsmanship. A bluish-green primary color inspired by the Patek Philippe Nautilus Tiffany Blue Dial adds sophistication, complemented by neutral gray tones that keep the focus on the watches. The Jura typeface, inspired by geometric Roman forms, reinforces the sense of elegance and precision found in luxury watch design.
