Quiz of Kings is a social online trivia mobile game where players challenge others to test their knowledge across a wide range of topics. It offers a full-fledged gaming experience with features such as real-time matches, chat, friend lists, and group competitions.

As Quiz of Kings grew, the main challenge was to modernize the experience while keeping it familiar for loyal players. My role focused on enhancing the user experience and interface design to improve engagement, retention, and usability across platforms.
My responsibilities included two main areas:
- Main Game Features: Redesigning outdated pages and creating new features to enhance engagement.
- Live Operations: Designing new events, challenges, and mini-games to keep the game alive and continuously engaging.

To design for such a large and long-running product, I conducted user research to understand player behavior and preferences. Through player interviews, personas, usability tests, and A/B testing, I identified user pain points and gameplay motivations. Insights from this research helped shape design decisions for new features, improve navigation patterns, and create a more engaging experience that aligned with player expectations.

To improve navigation and clarity within complex multiplayer features, I mapped detailed user flows for new and existing systems.
One key example is the Clan feature, where I visualized every step of joining, managing, and participating in a clan. This ensured a smoother experience and better collaboration across design, product, and development teams.

To modernize Quiz of Kings, I redesigned key features to improve usability and visual consistency while keeping the experience familiar for players.
For example, I redesigned the Avatar Shop to make browsing and customization smoother. Based on usability testing, I simplified navigation, added sorting options, and refined the visual layout. I also created low- to high-fidelity wireframes to explore layouts and validate improvements before finalizing the design. The result was a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive shopping experience.

As part of the LiveOps team, I designed time-limited events, mini-games, and seasonal challenges that kept the game dynamic and engaging. These included holiday-based competitions and the annual Quiz Wrap-Up feature, which visualized player stats and achievements. Each update aimed to keep the experience fresh and encourage players to return regularly.
